Kyran, who was the vice president HR, World Wide Analog at TI,  moved to Pune from Dallas, Texas to join the company.

Ravi Kyran has joined Bajaj Auto as the president-HR. He shifted base to Pune from Dallas, Texas to take up the new responsibilities.

The position was lying vacant since July 12 when Bajaj Auto lost its HR head, Amrutkumar Rath in a car accident on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. The unfortunate incident also took the life of Rath’s wife. However, their two children—18-year old Adisha and 10-year old Alman— escaped with serious injuries and are currently under medical care. The incident happened around 60 km from Pune, at Malavli, when they hit the median of the highway.

Kyran has been with Texas Instruments for long years. He joined the company in 2004 as manager-HR and moved up the ladder to become the vice president HR, World Wide Analog.

Kyran will head the entire HR function for Bajaj Auto.

Sharing this development with HRKatha, he says “Having worked for multinationals for so long, coming back to India, I wanted to join an Indian company and Bajaj Auto appeared to be ideal, as I thought culturally there would be a great fit between me and Bajaj Auto.” he says.

Further, talking about the company and its people, Kyran says, “It has an outstanding leadership team and people are extremely nice, especially Rajiv Bajaj, MD; He is quite outstanding and the way he has grown and transformed the company is quite phenomenal. So, overall, I felt that Bajaj Auto will be the right fit for me to come back to India.”

Kyran, who has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Vivekananda College, completed his master’s in personnel management and industrial relations from XLRI. He started his career with Asian Paints in 1995, where he spent around two years.

In 1997, he moved to ANZ Grindlays Bank as HR manager and spent the next three years there. Between 2000 and 2001, Kyran was staffing manager at Motorola, following which he moved to Hurix Systems for three years.

Kyran joined TI in 2004 as an HR manager for TI in India. He has since moved up and held a number of positions within the company, including human resource director for TI India. His last held position was that of vice president -HR of TI’s worldwide high-performance analog business.
