eClerx partners with NASSCOM for employability enhancement programme

The programme aims to provide specific job-related skills training in analytics and customer relationship management to 350 underserved youths and women.

Employers look for candidates with the right and the relevant skills to join them. A huge number of Indian youths are unemployed because they lack the right and relevant skills for the job. Being updated with skills which the employers look for is the only solution to this problem. Several training and skilling programmes have been launched recently by the Government of India as well as the private players in the country, which the youths should utilise well.

Working towards enhancing the employability of underserved youths and women in the country, eClerx has partnered with NASSCOM Foundation to launch the eClerx Employability Enhancement Programme. The programme aims to provide specific job-related skills training in analytics and customer relationship management (non-voice) to 350 underserved youths and women. This will help them gain exposure to better employment opportunities within the IT-BPM sector.

Speaking about the partnership, Shrikant Sinha, CEO of NASSCOM Foundation said that, “This partnership is a great example of how CSR money can be used for the benefit of creating more employment opportunities for the ever-expanding young population of our country.”

The programme will provide training in the suburban areas of Mumbai (Thane, Navi Mumbai), Pune (Ahmednagar, Pimpri, Chinchwad) and Chandigarh (Ambala, Karnal). In these areas, NASSCOM Foundation and its training partners will work with selected colleges to impart on-campus training.

National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) will set a guideline for training the participants. The instructor-led programme will follow a classroom training framework.

Giving his views on the initiative, P D Mundhra, co-founder and executive director, eClerx, said, “Our partnership will facilitate students from underserved communities, in tier 2 and 3 colleges, to prepare for the growing IT BPM industry. It will create a positive social impact with new-age skills for fulfilling their career goals, while providing a new source of talent for our industry.”

The participants will also be taught life skills, basic computer operations, functional English—oral and written communication—business etiquette, problem solving, time management, customer orientation, interview skills, and other soft skills to help them get employment.
