Bector quit Reliance Industries, early this month, where he was chief talent officer

Vikram Bector, who quit Reliance Industries, early this month, has moved to Cipla Pharmaceuticals as chief talent officer and head corporate HR. At Reliance Industries, Bector was chief talent officer. He joined Reliance Industries in July 2014 and had spent over 1.5 years with the Group.

He follows Prabir Jha, who joined Cipla as chief people officer in September. Earlier, Jha was group CHRO, Reliance industries.

Prior to Reliance Industries, he was chief learning officer and head of talent management at Tata Motors.

In his career span of 25 years, Bector has built world class, e-enabled practices in areas, such as talent acquisition, leadership development, succession planning, management of high potentials, training, organisation development and employee engagement.

He has worked across industries starting from IT consulting, BFSI, automotive, office automation, commodities and healthcare.

An MBA in marketing and finance from Punjab Agricultural University, Bector started his career with NIS Sparta as a trainer in 1996. Thereon, he moved to Canon India, and later to Max Healthcare. In 2001, he joined the Aditya Birla Group where he spent close to six years. There, he rose above the ranks to the position of head-HR and administration, Birla Sun Life AMC.

His next destination was Satyam Computers (now Tech Mahindra), where he joined as VP in 2006. Here, he co-created the Satyam School of Leadership by hiring a competent team and supervising the formation of a robust curriculum along with service offerings.

Before moving to Tata Motors, Bector also spent two years at Deloitte as chief learning officer & VP-talent development.
