Kape Technologies, a cybersecurity company has recently implemented layoffs across its various divisions. The company is said to have laid off 200 employees from its workforce last week., This was followed by news of the company’s chief technology officer, Dan Gericke, choosing to resign.
As per media reports, the company deals in providing many services such as virtual private network (VPN) services, including ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, and Private Internet Access (PIA). These are also few of the departments that will be most affected by the layoffs. The cuts represent 30 per cent of Kape’s workforce worldwide.
After the layoff, in an effort to find new opportunities, many employees turned to LinkedIn expressing their experience and termination news. Moreover, Gericke also mentioned in a post that the company was privatised on June 1 and hence, decided to cut off many roles as a part of its restructuring process.
He also opened up about this resignation and talked about his reasons to officially make such a decision. He mentioned how he wanted to depart the company, together with other outstanding colleagues who faced termination.
Kape Technologies employs over 1,000 individuals distributed across 10 global locations. The company has a strong presence in countries such as the UK, Israel, Germany, Romania, France, the Philippines, the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Cyprus. Additionally, according to information available on their website, they have managed to expand their customer base to 7 million paying users and attract over 100 million readers globally in recent years.
