These job vacancies will be created through the Rs 36,000-crore project given to the Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL).

During BJP’s 27th Vijay Sankalp Melava at Dabolim, the Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar assured the people of Dabolim that ‘there was no need to worry about the international airport at their backyard as it would keep operating in full swing’.

Parrikar mentioned that the government is working towards overall development of the country and the state, and that in North Goa, the government has started creating jobs and training the youth for the Mopa airport. Bringing cheer to the population of Goa, he also shared that in the south, for Mormugao and parts of Salcete, about 8–10 thousand job vacancies will be created through the Rs 36,000-crore project assigned to the Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL).

Since Goa’s tourism industry has been booming, Parrikar also assured that the inflow of tourists will only multiply in times to come, and both the airports will continue to run smoothly.

In line with PM Modi’s bid to bring employment to people and upskill them for the same, the Government of Goa is also committed to the same.
