GSK has announced the appointment of Vinita Ferrao as its talent acquisition lead, India. Prior to this, Ferrao was the head, talent acquisition at Mondelez International, where she was responsible for driving the strategic and operational talent acquisition agenda for Mondelez India.
She was also responsible for setting up a talent acquisition hub for managing volume hiring. In addition, branding initiatives, TA metric delivery and capability-building practices at Mondelez International also came under her jurisdiction. She was also spearheading campus hiring and summer internship hiring there.
After completing her bachelor’s in commerce from the University of Mumbai, she started her first stint in the industry as a general sales agent and manager at Hotel Connections. After working there for five years she decided to pursue an MBA in HR from Welingkar Institute of Management. Having finished her master’s she joined a recruiting agency named Personnel Search Services (PSS) Group as a consultant.
There, Ferrao honed her skills in hiring and recruiting people for the pharmaceuticals and chemical industry. She worked at PSS for more than 10 years and rose to the level of practice leader heading the pharmaceuticals, chemicals and healthcare practices.
Her next stint was as an HR manager at the pharmaceuticals company, Pfizer. There she was responsible for talent acquisition practices of the organisation. With her skills and hard work she rose to the level of senior talent acquisition manager within five years, which was also her last position at the organisation before she moved to Mondelez International.
