Genpact appoints Meena Wilson as head of women’s leadership programme

The Genpact Centre for Women’s Leadership (GCWL) is an  industry-academia partnership— combining the power of research with industry best practices — to empower women, make them leaders and drive gender-inclusive growth. 

Meena Wilson has joined the Genpact Centre for Women’s Leadership (GCWL) as executive director. Earlier, Wilson was a senior enterprise associate for the Centre for Creative Leadership (CCL) in Singapore and in India.

In the 23 years that Wilson has spent with CCL, she has led several projects and startups including the APAC campus— a research, innovation and product development (RIPD) unit— at Singapore. She was also the principal investigator for the Lessons of Experience-Asia project, managing cross-organisational teams in India, Singapore and China.

In the recent past, Wilson was leading CCL’s Asia Women’s Initiatives and Network (A-WIN) project and was based out of Gurgaon and Jamshedpur.

A native of India and former resident of Alaska, Wilson holds a Ph.D in adult and organisational development from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and writes extensively. She is author of the work Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today: Insights from Corporate India. Her previous work experiences include educational policy analysis for the state of Alaska, programme development for public schools in Anchorage, Alaska, and project work at the Xavier Labour Relations Institute in Jamshedpur, India.

In 2015, Genpact— in partnership with Ashoka University— launched GCWL with the vision to drive gender-inclusive growth that empowers and promotes women’s leadership across sectors in the country.

This industry–academia partnership is a corporate social responsibility effort to drive gender-inclusive growth with a vision to create a balanced distribution of income, resources and decision making powers across sectors. It combines the power of research with best practices from industry to empower women become leaders and drive gender inclusive growth.

GCWL focusses on carrying out research, establishing thought leadership and conducting proactive advocacy to help create contemporary laws and policies that promote equality and women’s leadership.

It will co-create a networking platform for all stakeholders working on issues of women’s empowerment. The Centre also conducts courses as well as training and mentorship programmes, to develop and enhance leadership skills. It aims to create a knowledge bank, which will help establish premium standards in leadership development and add to the next generation of women leaders from India.

This year, it plans to add significant new initiatives in policy advocacy and research dissemination.

  1. Very good programme for mother’s. Would like to know the requirements. Is there any scope for me at 48 yrs? I had been a computer instructor 25 years back?
