HSSC and 3M collaborate to train and upgrade skills of healthcare professionals in India

The two organisations will train the staff working in the Central Sterile Services Department to ensure maximum hygiene and minimum post-operative infection.

3M India Limited and HSSC (Healthcare Sector Skill Council) have signed an MoU for skill development in healthcare. Together, they aim to develop a robust and vibrant eco-system for quality vocational education and skill training in healthcare. Healthcare professionals will be provided with training to upgrade their skills.

The healthcare sector requires trained workforce with precise knowledge and skill sets, so that there are zero chances of any mishap. Several researches have shown that many patients get infected due to improper use of surgical/ medical instruments.  The lack of proper knowledge and skills results in thousands of people dying in hospitals every year.

3M Healthcare—a frontrunner for quality monitoring in the device reprocessing space— will work with HSSC to train the staff working in the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD).

The MoU was signed by Ms Debarati Sen, managing director, 3M India region and Mr Ashish Jain, chief executive officer, HSSC. The Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) is under the ambit of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, working toward the ‘Skill India’ mission.

Speaking at the event, Mr Ashish Jain, CEO, HSSC said, “HSSC aims to facilitate skill development in healthcare benchmarked to global standards, ensuring quality and standardisation. It is our endeavour to train and skill Indian youth making them employable, not only for India but for the world. The partnership between 3M and HSSC is a step in this direction.”

Talking about the partnership, L.C.
