Heineken appoints Yolando Talamo as chief people officer

Yolando Talamo, senior VP – HR, Heineken, will be succeeding Chris Van Steenbergen as chief people officer at Heineken Americas. Steenbergen will superannuate on January 1, 2021 after a successful six-year long tenure as chief human resources officer and executive team member at the Dutch brewing company.

Prior to joining Heineken, Steenberg had worked for Royal DSM and also spent almost two decades at Cadbury Schweppes in various senior positions. He is credited with maintaining the Heineken culture across its offices worldwide. He managed to successfully standardise the HR processes in the Company and build the Company’s diversity and inclusion (D&I) agenda. He was responsible for the hiring and development of several senior managers in the Company.

Talamo has been with Heineken ever since she moved from SAB Miller in 2016, where she was senior vice president – human resources, Latin America. She has also worked as CHRO, Cisneros. Having spent 18 years at Procter & Gamble, in various senior positions, Talamo gained vast experience in the HR domain.

Talamo has been elevated considering her vast experience in the developed as well as emerging markets across the globe. She is known for ability to ensure culture integration and build high-performance teams, with focus on diversity and inclusion, as well as talent development.

With an over 85,000-strong workforce, Heineken operates its cider plants, malteries and breweries in over 70 countries.
