Adani group-owned media company, NDTV has disclosed a salary raise across all network divisions following a thorough and transparent evaluation procedure. In a statement, the media house confirmed that they’ve given an 11.50 per cent salary hike across the board, which surpasses the industry average by a significant margin.
As per the company’s statements to media, this raise has been implemented within a span of six months since it became a part of the Adani group. Additionally, NDTV stated that their focus was on performance-based merit appraisals, aligning with industry-leading approaches to ensure that employees are acknowledged and rewarded based on their performance.
The company has kept their focus more towards their younger employees during the appraisal process. It also stated that the focus was to keep their compensation growth steady, while also establishing a clear career trajectory for them.
As the media industry experiences notable changes due to technological advancements, NDTV aims to leverage its expertise, innovation, and commitment to deliver exceptional programming to its viewers with this move.
According to Senthil Chengalvarayan, executive director, NDTV, the media group has entered its next phase of its growth, introducing nine news channels in various Indian languages. He further noted that the company’s ambitious expansion strategy, including the introduction of regional language platforms and further advancements in the digital realm, will bring forth fresh growth opportunities and additional responsibilities for the team.
In December of the previous year, the Adani group had acquired a majority stake in NDTV, gaining full control over the news broadcaster. Currently, the Adani Group holds a stake of over 64 per cent in NDTV.
