Reliance added over 2 lakh new hires across sectors

A total of 1,80,000 individuals has joined the Retail division, while the remaining 70,400 became part of Jio

Reliance Industries group has recently welcomed 2,62,558 new employees. The company has confirmed the substantial increase in its annual report for the fiscal year 2022-23. 

Out of the total new hires, 1,80,000 individuals have joined the retail division, while the remaining 70,400 became part of Jio. The annual report also acknowledges Reliance Retail as one of the nation’s largest employers, with a total of 2,45,581 on-roll employees. 

The report further marks the company’s third consecutive year of robust employment growth. In the financial year 2021-22, the company introduced a record 232,000 jobs across various sectors. Preceding this achievement, in the fiscal year 2020-21, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 disruptions, the company managed to generate 75,000 new job opportunities.

In a speech at RIL’s 44th Annual General Meeting on June 24, 2021, Mukesh Ambani stated how the company is dedicated to generate and facilitate extensive employment opportunities in India. 

Reliance’s combined contribution to the national treasury exceeded Rs 5 lakh crore during  FY21 to FY23. Furthermore, the company remains the foremost taxpayer in India, providing Rs 1,77,173 crore to the national treasury through a range of direct and indirect taxes, as stated in the annual report. This amount constitutes more than five per cent of the Indian government’s budgeted expenditure over the past three years.
