On January 4, 2023, Kumaar Priyaranjan was appointed as the chief human resource officer of Welspun Corp, a welded line pipe manufacturer and the flagship company of Welspun Group. Welspun Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate, headquartered in Mumbai. It has diverse businesses in line pipes, textiles, Infrastructure, and steel. It does business with 50 countries and has a distribution network in 32 countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia.
Priyaranjan has extensive experience in human resources and industrial relations, with a career spanning over 30 years across a range of industries including hospitality, transportation, engineering, consulting, and pharmaceuticals. He has expertise in managing diversity, developing long-term people strategies, and contributing to organizational growth.
He will be based at the head office in Mumbai and will report to the managing director and CEO, Vipul Mathur.
Before joining Welspun Corp, Priyaranjan was working as CPO at Navin Fluorine International.
Priyaranjan started his career as an assistant personnel officer HR in the Indian Hotels Company in 1992, then he joined the Transport Corporation of India, Hyderabad, as regional head.
Priyaranjan also worked at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories as director of HR. After that, he joined Raychem RPG (P) as senior vice president and head of HR and also served as head of the centre of excellence, SMT initiatives, and RPG Group.
He also worked as the chief people officer for Delcure Lifescience for 1 year and 6 months. After that, he worked as a director at Impact People Healthcare.
Priyaranjan was longest connected with the Hikal for 6 years and 8 months as the Senior VP and head of human capital and CSR.
Priyaranjan completed a strategic human resource management program at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Management and is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, where he completed a management development program.
