The company inaugurated a new office in Bangalore, to support the India business as it continues to scale and grow

In a world where everything is interconnected, silos don’t work anymore. Businesses look for more integrated solutions for everything and when it comes to talent management, organisations are even keener on wholesome solutions unlike temporary fixes used in the past. That said, Pontoon, a total talent solutions provider foresees market growth and has just announced an expansion drive.

The company inaugurated a new office in Bangalore, on April 25, to support the India business as it continues to scale and grow with its existing clients. It is also looking to drive an aggressive new client acquisition trail.

With 50 employees currently, Pontoon has been operating in India for over five years, servicing local and regional business needs. It is now looking to add another 200 to its workforce in the next 18 to 24 months as it sees a shift and a potential growth in business demand.

Talking of the same, Rishi Kapoor, managing director of APAC, Pontoon says, “Our expansion plans are in response to a shift we have witnessed in the India market, away from transactional, short-term, execution-only engagements towards a total talent, solutions-based demand from our clients and prospects.”

“As the workplace evolves, organisations are better understanding the advantages of working with a partner to meet their talent acquisition requirements. Reduced hiring cost, improved candidate quality, and customisable and scaling talent solution, are just some of the benefits experienced,” he adds.

Pontoon has implemented a global shared service centre strategy, which includes ensuring a presence in and coverage of the US, EMEA & APAC markets. India, one of the biggest emerging economies, is a critical piece of the global jigsaw.

In addition, “With a significant growth in the regional business and the opportunity to further support our clients through a shared services centre, the timing is right for us to expand our dedicated base in India. Our multi-country operating model is helping our clients more effectively attract and engage the best people for their business requirements,” says Mike Wachholz, president of Pontoon.

Pontoon India will be the second shared service centre in APAC, adding to the existing capacity and capabilities of the Philippines centre, which was established over three years ago.
