Claudine Gallagher will move up as the head – HR for BNP Paribas for corporate and institutional banking (CIB) Americas. She will be overseeing equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives and leadership training for all levels of employees in her new role.
This is Gallagher’s second role in less than a year. In March, she had the title of chief conduct and control officer for BNP Paribas and the CIB Americas unit as well. Till September 1, 2020 she had also served as the head of security services until Dennis Bon succeeded her for the same role.
She will continue as the chief conduct and control officer for BNP Paribas, while also handling her duties as the head HR, until a successor is announced for the former role in mid-2021.
Gallagher is based in New York and will report to chief executive of CIB Americas, José Placido and to the head of human resources for CIB worldwide – Laure Morsy.
She has spent a total of 14 years at BNP Paribas, having begun working at the Company’s France division in 1995 and staying put till 2001. She spent 12 years as the managing director of JP Morgan Chase before moving on to BNP Paribas in 2012 as the head of Americas.
Gallagher will continue to be a member of the CIB Americas executive committee and will soon join the global CIB human resources regional forum.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in French Literature from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Since 2016, she has been among the top powerful women in “American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Finance.”
