Engineer Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi, minister of human resources and social collaboration, Saudi Arabia, recently concluded the 13th Social Dialogue Forum in Riyadh. In collaboration with the King Abdulaziz Centre for Cultural Communication, the forum focused on ‘Legislation and Government Policies: Insights and Aspirations,’ bringing together government officials, employers, workers, and representatives from International Labour Organisation.
Al-Rajhi underscored the forum’s significance in encouraging discussions, addressing challenges and shaping an empowered society aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. He acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s achievement as the top G20 country in worker productivity growth (4.9 per cent in 2022, according to the International Labour Organisation ) and highlighted the commitment to collaborative initiatives discussed in five workshop sessions.
The Ministry further highlighted the forum’s vital role in creating a dynamic society and workplace. The success in worker productivity growth reflects our dedication to addressing challenges collaboratively.
Yousef Ghallab from the International Labour Organisation stressed the importance of inclusive policies through social dialogue, emphasising involving key stakeholders in legislative processes.
The forum discussed economic and social policy matters, approving recommendations to tackle challenges and improve collaboration on social insurance, contract documentation, labour courts and their connection to the labour system.
The Social Dialogue Forum aims to balance the labour market, safeguard jobs and enhance internationally- recognised mechanisms, fostering ongoing cooperation and communication among stakeholders.
