With the new government being formed and the new council of ministers taking charge, a lot of activity is expected in the Odisha. Therefore, the Odisha government has suspended leaves for all employees across departments, till 30 June, 2024. The district collectors as well as secretaries and heads of all departments have been instructed—by the general administration and public grievances department—via an official mail to ensure compliance.
The aim is to ensure that 100 per cent resources are available to ensure smooth implementation of the new government’s initiatives and programmes.
Today, that is 12 June 2024, due to the swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister and council of ministers, the Odisha government had announced that all state government offices and courts in Bhubaneswar would be close after 1 pm.
The order is applicable to all Odisha government offices and revenue and magisterial courts (executive) within the jurisdiction of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Now, till the end of the month, all government officials are required to be present at their respective headquarters to offer service and support whenever called upon to do so.
Till 30 June, even on public holidays government officials will not be permitted to take leave or be absent from their office, unless there is a medical or health emergency.
This is a measure taken to ensure that the expected increase in workload is smoothly handled.
