GreenLine has roped in Bhupesh Sawantdesai for the role of chief human resources officer (CHRO). He takes up this role after serving as senior director-people business partner-logistics-SCO, at DP World for more than a year.
An alumnus of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Sawantdesai began his professional journey with Kansai Nerolac Paints in 2003, as executive-human resources. Three years into this role, he switched to Emerson as senior manager-human resources for a little over two years.
In 2009, he joined DHL Express India as business HR manager-India, based out of Mumbai. For the next four years, he successfully led the India HRBP, staffing/ TA, HR operations and employee relation functions at DHL India for its Express Business Unit.
His next stop was Nielsen India, where he served as director-human resources for two years and five months.
April of 2015 saw him take up the role of India HR lead-last mile, Amazon Logistics, at Amazon. For a year he headed HR for Amazon Last Mile Delivery Centres in India. Then came a promotion that elevated him to India HR lead-middle mile, Amazon Logistics. For over four and a half years he looked into sortation, air and surface transportation, AMXL (large appliances 3P fulfillment centre, delivery stations and so on across Amazon’s national network.
In October 2019, he was back with DHL, as CHRO-DHL eCommerce India. For a little over a year, he handled the HR for DHL Smart Trucking Business, working closely with CXOs and global teams. From December 2020 to April 2023, he was with ElasticRun as director-human resources. By May 2023, he had moved again. This time, he joined DP World, the logistics firm, to lead HR for all the logistics businesses in the subcontinent.
