When it comes to Group-C direct recruitments for civil posts, Agniveers will enjoy five per cent horizontal reservation and for Group B posts, they will get one per cent horizontal reservation.
Additionally, private establishments that hire Agniveers against a salary of at least Rs 30,000 per month will enjoy a subsidy of Rs 60,000 per year.
The Chief Minister referred to this as an ‘employment guarantee scheme’ for Agniveers.
Agniveers choosing to launch their own business will be able to avail interest benefit on the loans of up to Rs 5 lakhs.
Agniveers will also get arms licences on priority. Similarly, priority will also be given to those Agniveers who wish to take up jobs in the state government.
Meanwhile, Krystal, a facilities-management firm, has expressed willingness to employ Agniveers after their short-term training with the defence services concludes.
