Sanjay Gawde has been appointed head-HR and administration and senior management personnel (SMP), Mahindra Logistics, starting 1 October 2024. He will take over from Edwin Lobo who is opting for early retirement, .
Gawde’s association with the Mahindra Group began in 2021, with him handling group rewards for over two years before heading group talent management in February 2024.
This alumnus of the University of Mumbai began his professional journey as an engineer with Gammon India, in 1998. Two years later, he joined GE Capital as AM-HR.
December 2004 saw him joining EXL Service as manager-HR for a little over a year and a half. From 2006 to 2009, he was associated with Hewitt Associates as lead consultant.
His next stop was John Deere, where he started off as general manager-compensation and benefits, GJE and direct services, in October 2009. Less than two years into this role, he was promoted to senior general manager-HR, IR and admin. His next elevation came three years later, which sent him to Illinois, US, as manager-workforce planning, organisation effectiveness and advanced analytics. In 2015, he was promoted yet again, making him HR business partner, global tractor and global IT.
August of 2017 saw him back in India, founding Pencilworks Learning Solutions. Less than two years into this venture, he joined Lupin as head-total rewards and performance management. After over two and a half years of dabbling in digitalization, analytics, technology and empowerment at Lupin, Gawde switched to the Mahindra Group in 2021, to handle group rewards.
