Allcargo Gati, an express distribution and supply chain management company in India, is anticipating a substantial rise in shipments during the upcoming festive season. The aim is to enhance the efficiency of order processing and last-mile delivery operations.
In preparation for the surge in demand, Allcargo Gati has taken strategic measures to expand its workforce and operational capabilities. The company has increased its manpower-supply services by adding six new providers, enabling it to recruit over 3,000 additional employees for various operational roles. This hiring drive is part of a broader effort to scale up staffing in response to the anticipated growth in order volumes.
Furthermore, the company has bolstered its supply- chain management capabilities by investing in advanced technologies and expanding its workforce at sortation and delivery centres.
To meet the expected surge, Allcargo Gati has taken several other strategic steps. It has expanded its last-mile delivery operations, aiming to streamline order processing and improve delivery speeds. The company has also collaborated with multinational brands and major e-commerce players, launching last-mile delivery services for these giants in key regions such as Maharashtra and West Bengal.
Furthermore, the company is also focusing on strengthening capacity, productivity and efficiency at its sorting and fulfilment centres. This includes the installation of double-deep racking systems, conveyors, advanced handheld terminals, and the adoption of data-driven route- optimisation solutions, all designed to ensure faster last-mile deliveries.
With 15 mother hub sorting centres already in place, Allcargo Gati is prepared to handle increased volumes efficiently. These centres are operationally optimised to exceed their usual capacity during peak periods such as the festive season.
