Following delays in salary disbursement, now the flight attendants of Jet Airways have been given the option of taking ‘leave without pay’ for up to 50 days. Jet Airways has requested more time from its employees for payment of salaries for the month of September. However, it has assured the employees of a solution to the present financial crisis. Union Cabinet has approved the payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days’ wages for the financial year 2017-18 for all eligible non-gazetted Railway employees excluding the Railway Protection Force (RPF/RPSF) personnel. The total financial implication of 78 days’ PLB to railway employees is estimated to be Rs.2044.31 crore. Vocational Training (NCVT) and the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) are to be merged with the aim of improving the results of the Skill India Mission.
