Starting 1 July 2024, those seeking residence and work permit in Denmark will have to deal with new salary limits. They will have their applications assessed on the basis of salary statistics for Q1 of 2024. Financial Express reports that applications between 1 April and 30 June will be assessed basis salary data for Q4 of 2023. It is pertinent to mention here that salary statistics are updated/revised quarterly, with the next revision scheduled for October.
The Danish government requires the new job offers to be within the standard salary range in Denmark.
The general practice for the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) is to examine the income data provided by the Confederation of Danish Employers (DA) on the basis of which it decides which job offer comes within the Denmark standard salary range.
Salary of an applicant will be in line with Danish standards, if the application form and employment contract state a minimum salary of DKK 71,020.83 per month. The salary is expected to be deposited in a Danish bank account.
Only those whose salary and terms of work contract align with the Danish standard can apply for residence or work permit, irrespective of whether they are applying for the first time or seeking extension. Commissions, bonuses and other uncertain salary income is not taken into consideration while calculation salary.
Among other conditions and rules, uncertain salary income such as commissions or bonuses cannot be included in the calculation of your salary.
