With a vision for economic development driven by skill enhancement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu aims to transform the state’s employment landscape over the next five years through targeted training programs, particularly for rural youth.
During a review meeting at the Secretariat, Naidu reaffirmed his commitment to creating two million jobs over the next five years, focusing on private sector expansion. Attended by officials from the departments of Skill Development, MSME, Industries, and SERP, the meeting concentrated on closing the gap between workforce capabilities and industry needs through comprehensive skill training initiatives.
Naidu emphasised the need for large-scale skill development programmes, particularly in enabling hybrid work-from-home models. He directed officials to collaborate with multinational companies to set up skill training centres and explore employment opportunities, especially in flood-affected areas. Highlighting the importance of rural employment, he stressed that economic growth in the state hinges on empowering people from these regions.
An action plan for further job creation will be developed in the next meeting to align government efforts with industry demands, ensuring the availability of an industry-ready workforce.
