In anticipation of the winter session of the Jharkhand Assembly, the state government has enforced a mandatory cancellation of leaves for officers and employees from 15 December to 21 December, 2023. The decision stems from the commencement of the winter session on 5 December, extending until 21 December, 2023.
Throughout the seven-day winter session, officers and employees across various departments are expected to diligently fulfil their respective duties. They will play a pivotal role in addressing questions and providing data in response to Assembly inquiries.
To ensure the smooth functioning of government affairs during this crucial period, Arun Kumar Singh, additional chief secretary, Health Department, issued a directive to civil surgeons and other officials, emphasising the need to revoke any previously- approved leaves. In case of any urgent leave, the individuals will have to obtain permission from the additional chief secretary.
The upcoming winter session is poised to be contentious, intending to scrutinise the state government on various issues.
