Anuradha Razdan has taken on the role of chief human resource officer, beauty and wellbeing, Unilever. Additionally, she will be shouldering responsibilities as global equity, diversity and inclusion officer for Unilever (London, UK).
Interestingly, Razdan has spent her entire career with Unilever. She started off as a management trainee, Unilever Future Leaders programme, in May of 1999. Within 11 months, she was appointed as sales HR manager (western region), based out of Mumbai. Two years into this role, she was elevated to the position of HR manager, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) Bombay factory. For over two years, she successfully led HR for HUL’s oldest factory, which involved major restructuring activity including negotiation with an evolved trade union structure. From April 2004 to March 2008, she served as HR business partner supply chain, HUL and UL, South Asia.
Another promotion came her way in April 2008, elevating her to HR business partner, home and personal care and foods and beverages, HUL. Less than two years later, she became general manager, leadership development, HUL and UL, South Asia. For the next three and a half years she was responsible for end-to-end talent management and leadership development, including talent acquisition, management development, corporate learning, as well as organisation change and development, for South Asia.
May of 2013 saw her in the position of strategy director to CHRO, Unilever (London, UK). Less than two years into this role, she became vice president-human resources, beauty and personal care, Unilever, based out of London.
In June, 2015 she became vice president-HR, home care and head-global talent attraction, Unilever. She was back in Mumbai in 2019, as executive director and CHRO, Hindustan Unilever and Unilever, South Asia.
With this latest promotion, this alumna of Fergusson College and XLRI Jamshedpur will again work out of London.
Razdan admits to feeling “privileged to be a part of this incredible business that is home to some of the most iconic brands across hair, skin, health and wellbeing and prestige categories, serving consumers all over the world,” in her social-media post. With the added responsibility of global equity, diversity and inclusion officer for Unilever, Anuradha Razdan hopes to “make a meaningful contribution to an agenda I am deeply passionate about as we advocate for more inclusion in business and communities.”
